Ingredients

Spiced Pear & Turmeric Puree

  • ½ Pear peeled, cored and cut into cubes
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • ½ tsp Ground Cloves
  • 1 Fresh Turmeric (peeled and cut into small pieces) / 1/2 tsp Ground Turmeric
  • ml Water or more if needed

Latte

  • 80 ml Tea, Coffee or Matcha optional
  • 2 tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 600 ml Soy Milk or any milk preference

Instructions

  • Peel, core, and cut half a pear into cubes. The pieces don’t need to be bite-sized, but they should be a uniform size so they cook evenly. If using fresh turmeric, peel and cut into small pieces.
  • In a milk pan, add the cubed pear, cinnamon powder, clove powder, fresh or powdered turmeric, and water (add more water if the pears take time to cook). Cook over medium heat until the pears are soft when pricked with a fork. Remove from the heat and allow it to cool for 5 minutes.
  • Using a smoothie, regular blender, or immersion blender, blend the cooked spiced pear & turmeric until smooth. Run it through a sieve to remove any remaining chunks or lumps.
  • Divide the spiced pear turmeric puree equally between two large cups or four small cups. Add maple syrup to each mug.
  • At this stage, you can proceed directly to the next step if you prefer the drink without caffeine. Otherwise, add your choice of tea, coffee/espresso, or matcha.
  • If adding caffeine, use about 80 ml of strong tea, matcha, or coffee, or two shots of espresso, then continue to the next step.
  • Froth the soy milk (or any milk of your choice) and pour it evenly into all the cups. Lastly, add a sprinkle of cinnamon powder (optional) and enjoy!
